The Well-Dressed Home was started in 2001 by the owner, Betty Beeson, who turned her life-long passion for decorating into a career.  

A Canadian native and former resident of Bermuda, Betty has lived in the DC area for over 20 years.  While employed full-time in the high-tech field, Betty developed both her decorating and sewing skills plus an active part-time decorating business.  When the time came to make the move into the full-time decorating world, she was more than ready.

Betty has received formal training in Redesign and Staging from JoAnne Lenart-Weary of One Day Decorating.   Betty is a member of the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (IRIS), and has received IRIS certification in redesign.  She is an affiliate of the Interior Design Society (IDS), is a member of the Window Coverings Association of America, and is a charter member of the newly-formed Society of Decorating Professionals, from whom she has been certified in both redesign and staging. She is also a trained and certified "Color With No Regrets" specialist.
